Leah Rampy, founder and CEO of Illumine, LLC, is a highly skilled executive coach and organization consultant with a focus on helping individuals and teams discover and achieve their goals.
Leah specializes in helping executives who want to optimize their effectiveness, maximize their impact, increase their level of responsibility, or pursue new paths. She has worked with leaders in corporations, associations, and non-profits of all sizes, helping them to refine and achieve break through results. Leah also designs experiences for individuals and teams to explore their passion, embrace new ways of thinking, and expand possibilities for the future.
Leah's ability to maximize the success of individuals and organizations is built on over 25 years of work experience and advanced study in leadership development, management training, team dynamics and organizational effectiveness. Drawing on her background as a university professor and then a corporate executive, she grounds her work in strong theoretical knowledge and then helps her clients find practical solutions to achieve break through results.
An experienced manager, Leah has over 15 years of service in leadership positions in Fortune 100 companies with 13 of those years in the financial services sector. Prior to founding her own firm in March 2000, Leah was Vice President of Human Resources at Fannie Mae, responsible for a staff of 90 employees and leading initiatives in organizational effectiveness, leadership development, resource planning, employee relations, staffing and training. From 1994 to 1998, she served as VP of Training and Development at Fannie Mae.
At Duracell International Inc., Leah worked as Vice President of Training and Development and was responsible for launching the corporate training department. From 1984 to 1992, Leah held a variety of leadership positions at American Express including Vice President of Worldwide Education and Development, responsible for all leadership training for Travel Related Services. Leah has served as assistant professor of education at the University of Houston and as associate instructor at Indiana University.
Committed to lifelong learning, Leah holds a B.S. and M.S. from Fort Hays (KS) State University and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. She is a graduate of Newfield Network's Coaching for Personal and Professional Mastery and is certified as a somatic coach by and is an associate of Strozzi Institute. She is also certified in Benchmarks, Profiler, Lominger's VOICES (all 360-degree feedback instruments), Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI Type II, FIRO-B, Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory, and the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory.
Leah is active in a number of professional and community organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for the Tahirih Justice Center, as a member of the Washington 100 of the Washington Area Women's Foundation, and on the Board of Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. She is a founding member of the McLean Connections Steering Committee, a grass roots organization that has helped to bring multicultural dialogues to the community in an effort to increase understanding and resilience post 9/11. Leah lives in McLean, VA, with her husband, David, and two children, Andrew and Ana.
